Return of the Fiesta Cutie!

Clark is having a lovely time on it's first tour. Here's a recent pic Ange took at one of our shows! Being a part of the tour was a real treat for me. It was especially fun to play in San Francisco at The Make Out Room....a cool vibey place dedicated to good music. The Clark Tour continues up to the northwest so please check the website for more info. Abby earned a new "big girl" tooth brush and is learning the delicate art form on her own....although she's still working on finding the molars, she's got "being cute" down pat. I'm sure she eventually learn to get back and swipe at those sneaky ones that go unseen.
Well, we're just a few days away from the Bay Area leg of the CLARK TOUR. It should be a fun adventure to spread our music to the other end of the state. Good news is, Abby & Angela are going to get to join us for most of the time. The other really great news is that we'll be staying with my family in San Jose! This is especially good for us because we'll get to see our cousins Gwen & Nolan again. Go see how cool they are RIGHT HERE.
So, if you happen to live in the Bay Area, I hope to see you at one of our shows! We're hoping to book another gig in San Jose on Tuesday so let me know if you're aware of a good place.....but here's the plan as of now:
Saturday, July 22--> LOMPOC, 4pm @ "Our Festival"
Sunday, July 23--> SOQUEL, 7pm @ "The Ugly Mug"
Monday, July 24--> available!
Tuesday, July 25--> SAN FRANCISCO, 9pm @ "The Make Out Room"
Wednesday, July 26--> SEBASTOPOL, 6:30pm @ "Ace in the Hole"
After that, I'm going home, but check the CLARK WEBSITE for more gigs! There will be another leg in August which will venture into the Northwest!

Abby got to go to a CLARK gig this week! We played a gig at Buffalo Records in Ventura at a decent hour so she got to come listen to the tunes! Of course, there was plenty of time to be goofy with "B" (aka Gabe) at dinner afterwards! She was quite attentive during the music and had a great time being a part of the "scene" in Ventura.
So sometime around October 23 we'll all get to meet this little guy. Something tells us he likes the World Cup because he's been kicking Ange's tummy like crazy! I thought about giving him a red card but then realized an "ejection" might be confusing for the lad--just stay put for now dude!
So school is out. It's official. I'm really going to miss this great class that I had. Last week was quite a whirlwind of emotion. Two of the third graders from my class are moving to Texas. We sang a little parody song to send them off...you know, lots of goofy lyrics interspersed with lines like "we love you" and "we're sure gonna miss you in Texas." I had no idea that by the end of the song, I'd have 18 sobbing nine-year-olds on my hands. It turned out to be a very tender, healing time. If you're looking for a spiritual boost, I recommend hanging out with kids crying and praying for each other.

Abby was thrilled and we had a great time soaking up some rays while we caught up with our pals. Ofcourse, we let Tad snap some pix with our little "point and shoot" and the results were incredible. Besides the one sample here, you can see more picnic pix RIGHT HERE on my FLIKR page.
I'm pleased to announce another album release from Good Times Studio! One of the songs, "Rejoice", was penned by my lovely wife, Angela White. If you'd like to hear it, click on REJOICE and take a listen at the good times studio myspace page. Remember, 100% of the money goes to charity! You can buy the album in the lobby at SBCC or by clicking the "Buy Now" symbol below. I'm not sure why, but you'll have to scroll down a little to get to the "buy now" button...

In other news, Clark (my acoustic-ish, rainy day music band) was on the air Saturday. We were on WNYU in New York. Our song, "Lost", from the "Here Comes Tomorrow" album, was on a morning show called Pop Anonymous. We have met a promoter through MySpace that really believes in the album and is pushing it everywhere that he can...for free. So we very much appreciate the extra plugs. Stay tuned to your local radio...you just might hear Clark!
In addition to playing with Clark, I'm also dying to get back to my full band, Widescreen Reason. My buddy, Matt Steele, who drums in the band, has been fighting brain cancer. He's had a rough couple weeks, so I appreciate your prayers of healing for him. I know he'd love to be done with radiation and get back to fun things like jamming with the band. Get better soon Matt!
Here's a fun pic from Clark's KCPR radio gig yesterday!

besides all that freaky celeb stuff, it was fun to play a show with friends, sell some Clark CD's, and use some drink tickets.
just two more days of reminding abby that we're just "looking" at presents, not touching them!
So, turns out I'm not addicted to going to work every day...oh wait, I never was. Anyway, it has been really fun to focus on being a Dad this week. Abby and I have been all about the good times this week. We're not afraid to get out loads of toys or continually recheck the couches...ya know, just to make sure they're still soft. Today, we got ambitious! We hopped on the bike and didn't stop until we hit ocean. OK, that only equals about a 1/2 mile. So, we flipped a U-ey and headed to the friendly neighborhood playground. Ofcourse, we've been doing our part to be good Americans this week...hitting the shops til we drop. Yesterday, i spent most of my time at the mall trying to find some place that sold some form of smoothies. Abby must have politely requested a "Smoothie please" at least 777 times. In the end, we had to settle for Buckstar...they actually sell some sort of non-coffee frap that sure seemed a lot like a strawberry milkshake to me. well, we we're thankful, because one of the giftcards in my wallet saved the day!
Three more days until we get to put our fake plastic Baby Jesus in our "Made in China" manger. Abby and I can hardly wait...I am a blessed man.
if you like mellow, soothing, melodic, dreamy music, you might like this. if you're into nick drake, elliott smith or mark kozelek, you'll really dig this album. either way, i'm very proud to announce the arrival of the new Clark album!
Just in time for Christmas...you can listen to samples and order your own copy of the album HERE.
